As per Pooja
The theme of my painting is Underwater world. Ever since I was a child I was fascinated about the world under the ocean and before I could know, it became my style. I was attracted to the various colors and shapes of the little conch shells and pebbles. I have been working in this theme since my college days. I remember, when I was in the final year of Diploma, I was so fortunate that, I got an entire question paper based on this very theme and I passed with distinction. As I went ahead in my career my style and color patterns changed however, I still preferred the same theme. “Underwater World” as the name itself shows how deep and vast this theme can be, I feel whatever we live and experience in our lives is somehow captured or expressed in our artwork. I I moved to Kokan after marriage and my relationship with beaches grew ever stronger and hence my theme became an inseparable part of my life. In fact, now apart from conch shells many other things like Fishes, Corals, Tortoises, Turtles etc. were added to my artworks. The nature itself is so beautiful and mesmerizing that showing it through your paintings becomes a very difficult task and a huge responsibility on an artist’s shoulders. I worked hard and with a lot of practice, mastered the art.
